Los Angeles Meditation Center

Dear Friends of the LA Meditation Center
Great News! The California Tax Franchise Board and the Internal Revenue Service have received our applications for nonprofit status. We should receive a positive answer from them within 120 days.

January Message
In winter, the blossoms and leaves have fallen to the earth.  The branches of the trees bend toward the source of their birth.  Winter is a time, symbolically, when all returns to what has given life, and the cycles are complete.  There has been birth and the fullness of life, and now there is death.  The implied lessening of light and the profound shadows of sleep hug the earth.
Winter is a time of hibernation, not only physically but also spiritually.  It is a time for self-reflection and understanding.  It is a time to look within ourselves, and understand more deeply all that has occurred in the past year.
For now, as you have reaped the effects of what you have become over the past year, it is time to choose anew.  It is a time to think about the life that you have created.  Have you accomplished what you set out to do?  Did you miss the mark?  Or did you place your arrow well into the target, chosen from the integrity of your own circle of truth?
During the wintertime, may you experience love, beauty, and peace in your inner cave of hibernation.  May you awaken from the long dream of winter into the golden light of all that you have become.

Seminar in Mexico
S
andra Valdez, a writer from Mexico, has been working on the translation of my book, Powerful Mental Development. While she was on a trip with her friend Isa, her friend started reading my book. She became very interested in the book and started asking Sandra many questions about it.
Upon returning from their trip, Isa suggested to her women's group that they should read my book. All the women in the group agreed, and now they have formed a study group that meets every Tuesday.
Together, they are reviewing the lessons and working on the exercises. When they found out that I was going to be in Monterrey for a few days, they asked Sandra if she could get me to do a seminar for them. I quickly agreed and we had a great seminar. I talked with them for over two hours, and we had a great meditation.
It is a great feeling to meet people who are eager to learn about meditation. I hope that I can reach more people like them in the future.
