What Enlightenment is and What it is Not

If there is any remnant of an individual who can say that he/she is Enlightened, then know that it is not the case. Or, rather, that it is already the case as it is for all beings, whether they are aware of it or not. Know, however, that any claim of such, is simply the individual 'I' seeing a more beautiful costume and claiming ownership. There are countless beings making that assertion and it is very easy to fall into this particular prism of illusion. Does it matter? It does if one assumes the role of guru...and it also matters because one inhibits one's progress to absolute Freedom from the false notion of an individual existence.

Enlightenment is very simple. It is the very Existence. It is not an achievement, for any achievement is for an individual 'I', and any movement from the perspective of pure Existence itself is false, an illusion, since the 'I' of individuality simply does not exist.

If Enlightenment can be described, it would be more like saying the individual has gone away. If one can remember what it was like in the first year of life, then that would approximate Enlightenment. There is no sense of 'I', 'mine', 'other' - just Awareness in its Pristine State.

If any question arises with respects Enlightenment, he/she would be unable to answer - not really knowing what to say. There would be no sense of being somehow special, for how could Being be special? It is everywhere, permeates everything. Such a being would just be basking in the sun of Being. They are just themselves, just being Being or just being the pure and vast undifferentiated Consciousness which we all are already in essence! And there is no danger of slipping from this place, because there is no place and there is no 'I' - there is just Existence.
